In the period from 21st to 22nd December 2015, Association "Alterural" organized a two-day study visit to the Municipality Pitomača on the topic: Examples of good practice in rural tourism.

We paid a visit to 2 households in this area: "Zlatni Klas" in Otrovanec and "Ribička klet" on Dravski island. Participants were hosted and could have insight into the evolution and history of the family farms, traditional culture and gastronomy as a means to build a recognizable tourist experience. They had opportunity to see how to make use of medicinal plants and eco foods in catering kitchen. The second day of the study visit was a tour of a Pitomačka wine road under the guidance. This explanatory tour was all about gastro and wine tourism. After this, the participants visited the cellar named "Vineda" and they had the opportunity to taste unique quality wines and to learn about varieties of wines and their treatment that are grown on their property.

The study visit was attended 15 participants, service providers in rural tourism, as well as representatives of the sector of tourism.

The purpose of the visit is to exchange experiences between actors in this sector with the purpose of improving the offers in rural tourism BiH.
