Alterural Association organized a study visit to Pitomača second year in a row on "Examples of good practice in rural tourism". The aim of this visit is to meet other actors in this sector and exchange experiences in the group, and the application of these experiences in their own businesses. 15 participants in this study visit were representatives of the Municipalities Kreševo, Fojnica, Sarajevo Center and Vares, service providers in rural tourism, representatives of tourist boards and members of several associations related to the development of rural tourism. During the visit, on 11th and 12th of November 2016, the participants had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the history and development of rural households "Zlatni klas" and "Ribička klet" in Pitomača, and exchange experiences with the owners of these households.














While tasting gastronomy specialties of this household they discussed about the traditional gastronomy, as a tool of creating a recognizable tourist experience. Participants were very interested in the ways of organizing the farm as well as legislation in Croatian rural tourism. also, the topics of discussion were the use of herbs and ecologically grown food, as well as recreation as an additional tourist offer. This year, in addition to the farm visit, they were invited to the celebration of St. Martin. Tourist Board of Pitomača, with help of local associations organized the traditional gathering after the completion of the wine-growing year, the celebration of St. Martin, with the blessing ceremony. It should be mentioned that even the extremely cold weather, continuous rain and together with snow could not spoil the mood.
