Study visit to Serbia (February 2017)
This year Alterural Association organized a two-day study visit to Serbia that included a visit to the Tourism Fair in Belgrade. The study visit is organized on 22nd and 23rd of February 2017 and attended by providers in rural tourism and representatives of associations that cooperate with Alterural for development of rural tourism in BiH.
On the first day the group visited the farm in the village of Neradin near Iriga as an example of good practice in rural tourism. "Perkov salas" on the southern slopes of Fruska Gora, is authentic tourist attraction. The farm managed by the family Ivanic has everything subordinated to a natural setting, without the clutter of modern equipment and items.
The farm was built 60 years ago, but there are exibited some much older objects, furniture and pieces of furniture that belonged to the ancestors Ivanic. The farm also has a large collection of antiques, yoke, wagon, plows, looms for weaving, wooden beds and mattresses, mirrors, handmade linens more than two centuries old. All of these is completed by the kindness and hospitality of the host. Owner Nikola Ivanic welcomed guests in authentic costume, offering them bread, salt and brandy. On the second day of visit, the participants visited the Belgrade Tourism Fair, which is the largest tourist event in Serbia and Southeast Europe. 39th Tourism Fair was held at the Belgrade Fair Place from 23rd to 26th of February 2017 with 1,100 exhibitors from 56 countries. The partner country this year is Montenegro.









Alongside to the Belgrade Fair there were three events: International Trade Fair for Hotels and Catering HORECA, Wine Fair BeoWine and Souvenir Fair "Visit Serbia".
This year's participants are the most important tourist agencies, associations and organizations, hotels, tourist centers, airlines, international tour operators. In addition to the exhibition a rich program was enriched with presentation of many festivals and important events, as well as the most significant potential and plans.
The fair was amended with souvenirs, masters of old handycrafts and arts introduced products made with traditional techniques, but adapted to the needs of today. Tourist organizations presented souvenir sales, manufacturers of souvenirs, owners of rural households. This was a good opportunity for visitors to the fair to get ideas and guidance for creating new distinctive souvenirs.
