Study visit to West Serbia (November 2017)

The Alterural Association organized a study visit to western Serbia from 7th to 8th November 2017. Participants were 18 representatives of rural households, accommodation providers in rural areas from all over BiH. Study visits of this type are important for both promotion and concluding new acquaintances in the rural tourism sector.
Participants, mostly from Vares, Kresevo, East Sarajevo and Fojnica, visited very interesting villages and met people who are involved in one way or another in rural tourism. During the two-day visit, they had the opportunity to see the authentic village of Sirogojno, as well as the open-air museum. Also, they visited the ethno park Terzica Avlija, where the owner made a welcome and presentation of the village's life in ancient times. On the second day, Mr. Milenko Glisic showed his household, involved in the cultivation of raspberries and peppers, and his family is one of the first to start with rural tourism in Zlakusa.
The group took advantage of the opportunity and visited the art gallery, whose painter and poet Vasilije Terzić was the initiator.
Study visits of this type are of great importance to families involved in rural household activities, as they make new acquaintances exchange experiences and thus improve their business. Rural tourism in western Serbia is very developed, with a lot of historical heritage, picturesque landscapes, pleasant climate and famous hospitality of the locals.
