The expert conference "Discover Bosnia and Herzegovina through its countryside" was organized by Alterural on 11 and 12 June 2019, in Bjelasnica.

The conference is intended for professionals involved in the development of rural tourism in BiH and the region in order to be able to share information on the situation in the sector.
It is part of the project "Building up rural tourism destinations around Sarajevo to diversify rural economy" funded by the European Union.

Participants of the conference were development agencies, public sector, then there were owners of small businesses and rural households and agencies supporting rural development.

The participants had the opportunity to listen to the presentation of eminent names from the region in the field of rural tourism, as well as numerous panelists from different areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The opportunity to address the participants had Majors of municipalities in which the project was implemented.

In the future, Alterural will intensify its technical support in order to improve and harmonize quality and standards in rural tourism.

The Alterural Association was founded in 2009 and is specialized in supporting family businesses involved in the rural tourism sector.

In the past, the association has worked a lot on the ground in order to identify rural households offering this kind of offer in rural areas: local gastronomy offer, domestic product sales at home and accommodation in a rural household.
