From the 28th to the 30th of March 2014, a specialized fair “ Destinations NATURE” was organized in Paris. This is a fair dedicated to the innovative forms of tourism and destinations for hikers and mountain lovers. It remains the main event for the preparation of active holidays in France and abroad to discover new activities and places.

A representative of Alterural has visited the fair this year to collect various information on the profile of the tourist interested by this form of Tourism and the existing current offer.

Combined with rural tourism, the untouched nature and magnificent mountainous sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina have a great potential for development. The country is still not represented.

The idea was also for us to get a better picture of potential tourist from UE, the represented Countries in such event and get a few ideas on the innovative trends in the targeted sector especially in terms of marketing. We have been able to reach this preliminary objective. This was also an opportunity to get a few samples of their marketing and understand the major importance of maps and mapping for tourism industry. This is still particularly missing in BiH.

 One important outcome would be the preparation of a few attractive tours and the participation of a stand for Bosnia in the next 2 years.

This year, it was the 30^th edition in a row and the event has registered in 2014 an increased number of visitors.  63 000 visitors came in 2014 during last week-end. This is held at the “Porte de Versailles”, a well known center for the fairs in Paris, covering 10 000 M2. 350 exhibitors participated as well as 230 journalists and the fair counts more than 14 000 fans on the social networks.

Among represented countries, traditional tourism destinations were present such as Italy, Cuba and Madagascar or the French Islands (DOM-TOM) but also a few countries from former Yugoslavia such as Slovenia, with an attractive stand and Croatia.
