On April 9, 2025, a workshop entitled "Improving housing conditions for all in Bosnia and Herzegovina 2024-2025" was held at the Vema Hotel in Visoko, organized by the Alterural Association, with the support of the Abbé Pierre Foundation. About 20 participants from six municipalities included in the project were gathered: Breza, Fojnica, Ilijaš, Pale, Vareš and Visoko.
The workshop was opened by representatives of centers for social work, and professor Suada Buljubasic gave a lecture on the support system for people with disabilities, stressing the importance of focusing on their abilities. A video about the implementation of project activities in the past year was also presented.
The director of Alterural, Sarah Devisme, spoke about the results so far and the plans for 2025, including the renovation of 20 housing units. In the second part, Haris Haverić from the Sumero Center spoke about adapting spaces for people with disabilities, while Ilma Solak Omerhodžić presented the projects of the Center of Positive Practice Association from Breza.
The workshop ended with a round table discussion, where participants exchanged experiences and discussed challenges and future steps. A special focus was on improving housing conditions for people with disabilities.
